The humble beginnings: From couch to concept
Witted Megacorp is a pan-Nordic software development company of 375 IT professionals, yearly revenue of 53 million EUR, publicly listed on NASDAQ First North Helsinki. That’s pretty neat, but… how did we get here?
Let’s rewind. It all started in 2016. There were just a couple of friends sitting on a couch in central Helsinki. They had an idea, enthusiasm, laptops and lots of coffee. That’ll take you far.
The idea was to fix the IT work life – to find a solution to the IT market’s talent shortage. The goal was to build a company that would be the best partner for software developers in their search for jobs or projects. The industry lacked players who understand the mindset of software developers and are able to combine technology, business and recruitment expertise.
That idea became our company, initially named Talented Solutions. The name was later changed to Witted Megacorp as we moved beyond the talent competition and into much larger arenas. (Just like Kelly Clarkson.)

Rapid growth and international expansion
Turns out that our view had traction. Talents liked us and clients loved us, and we had rocketlike initial growth, doubling our size every year for years. The initial focus on recruitment shifted towards software consulting, which quickly became what is our main business.
We were always looking for ways to create a better work life for software professionals. We had the Talented business that was focusing on recruitment, we had the business now known as Witted Partners, connecting independent software talent with client projects, we created Mavericks, a software consultancy for those senior consultants who didn’t find the traditional IT consultancy attractive or flexible enough to them – or, of course, lucrative enough.
We were always finding ways to fix the mismatch between what talents wanted and what the market offered. Our way of doing things was going against the grain. When the world zigs, we zag. We were always bold and decisive, and experimental. We made a lot of starts, succeeded, failed, and everything in between. We kept innovating and kept what was working.
Finland wasn’t enough for us. We co-founded Software Sauna in Croatia in 2018. In 2019, we expanded to Norway and later took on the USA, Sweden and Denmark, too.
Getting to megacorp and going public
We started thinking about how to take the next step. We had this portfolio of different businesses, but we weren’t willing to rest on our laurels yet. We decided to join our businesses under the name Witted Megacorp in late 2021 and IPO’d on NASDAQ First North in May 2022.
We took on more growth opportunities, and acquired the business and digital transformation consultancy NeXec in late 2022. NeXec was serving the largest corporations, which was a great match to what Witted had become: we were no longer a startup. We were an established company, serving the biggest companies in the Nordics.

Way bigger, but still the same
It all happened fast. In 2016 we were not much more than dreams and a big shared idea in a couple of heads. Now, in 2025, several transformations and reinventions later, we’re disrupting the Nordic IT industry and well-established. We’re still the same kind of people. We never took on the suits. We never got boring and corporate. Our hoodies are soft and hearts are still warm. We’re still driven by our mission to build a better work life in the software industry. But one thing has changed: we’ve got a bigger couch now.
