    Drive to find new ways to scale brought us together

    Gaasly rose from the ashes of a failed startup. Jani Tarkiainen and Kai Lemmetty started the company after their startup did not take off as big as founders had initially hoped.

    The name of the company comes from the words “Growth As A Service”, Gaasly. We help companies grow their business online with search engine and social media marketing.

    Before the startup project Jani was country manager to a Finnish software consultancy company in Thailand and Kai was country manager to the same company in Vietnam. They were working closely together with streamlining the company’s processes and general management globally.

    These two experiences gave foundation to Gaasly. Founders wanted to build a consultancy company that is addressing the global market and can grow quickly. However, fast growth requires ability to scale operations effectively.

    Scaling is not really built-in to traditional consulting business as the revenue is based on time people spend working on client projects. So, growing the revenue it is required to hire more people. Whereas, fast-scaling businesses like TikTok can make revenue without hiring anyone.

    Gaasly wants to challenge this paradigm. Firstly, we don’t have any project or account managers. Typical digital marketing agency has an account manager who sells and deals with clients and also a project manager who leads the client projects. Once these companies scale, they need to hire more project and account managers. At Gaasly, we don’t have these roles at all, instead our platform and effective processes will make these roles redundant.

    Drive to find new ways to scale brought us together

    International and all-agile

    Gaasly is targeting global markets and competition is local and international. Modern marketing is an agile environment, and so are we. Our value proposition is built up around an agile approach to help businesses grow with digital marketing.

    Digital marketing is not a marathon but a series of sprints. Each sprint takes us closer to our goals. Between the sprints, we stop to review the results and plan new activities.

    In addition to our agile working process, we want to extend the agile approach to our customer relationship. Unlike many other digital marketing companies, we don’t require any long-term contracts or commitments with clients.

    So, we would say that our approach is quite different compared to other agencies whose strategy is more on the side of planning than hands on doing and testing. The other thing that separates us from many others is that we really work globally.

    Our Growth Partners are multinationals, so we will always provide one native into the project.

    We help clients to gain the full leverage from digital marketing

    In many cases our clients come to us looking for help to boost online sales or trying to gain a digital foothold in foreign markets. Often the client has some ideas of what needs to be done to gain more sales or enter new markets, but usually they are also looking for a partner who has done it before and knows what needs to be done.

    The consultancy we provide is not only setting up campaigns or doing the technical part of the work. Many times, we help to see the bigger picture by brainstorming, implementing, testing and learning together with the client.

    The changing digital landscape has also brought a bunch of new opportunities to businesses, but many times they can’t keep up with all the new tools, platforms and strategies out there. We are often the partner for the business to consult and implement new strategies and tools to gain market advantage.

    Working at Gaasly

    We are an international team of ten digital marketing experts working 100% remotely from Thailand to the North parts of Norway and all the way back to Spain. We have one team member in almost all of the continents. Location independence gives us the possibility to be international.

    How do we keep the team spirit up then when we work all remotely? We still work closely even though we are far in distance. In each project we have two team members not only because it is beneficial to the client to bring two experts together but also because it is important to work with teammates to keep team spirit up.
