Feed – a creative design agency driven by technology

    From our blog / Article

Located in the heart of Oslo, Feed is a creative design agency driven by technology. Feed helps organisations and companies realise their business potential through digital products, services and brand identities. With a special mix of designers, strategists and developers, it has grown fast to become one of the most eclectic teams in the Oslo design scene.

    How it all begun

In 2010, a designer and a product developer started working together on the idea that design and tech were two sides of the same coin, and yearned for a company that would combine user experience, digital trends and technical know-how.

Another milestone happened in 2017, when a group of young designers joined the team, strengthening the importance given to visual identity. To merge strong designers with tech in the same company enabled them to create solutions that they did not find on the market at the time.

    How it all begun

    A holistic and curious approach

Feed’s aim has always been to work at the threshold between design and technology, where both fields feed one another. There is no magic formula for creating successful products and services, and Feed has always adopted a curious, open minded approach. Given the (still rather) small size of the team, the company is able to adapt to the rapid changes in market needs and technology, relying on user insight and analysis, combined with early prototyping to help make informed decisions in complex projects.

One of their strengths is how updated they stay about the trends of the market. Each week, the team gathers around a weekly meeting where they highlight interesting research and news from both design and technology. This leads to their “Feed Weekly” blog posts, a large melting pot of the latest to be aware of in the broad internet. Such curiosity for the field and for the ways in which tech might be used in the future is a core feature of this company, and is reflected in each project that they embark on. None of the projects are the same. The clients define themselves where they want to go, with Feed’s team as a valuable consultant and wayfinder. That way, the projects achieve a level of authenticity that reflects and reinforces the values of each company they work with.

    A holistic and curious approach

    Well designed tech

A good digital structure and measurable results are essential in today’s society. One of the core values of Feed is to make meaningful solutions to help a wide range of companies – whether big corporations, communal projects, or startups – achieve their potential. Technical aspects are addressed at the early stages, hence developers and designers’ work run parallell to one another. By allowing such symbiosis of tech and design, Feed also strengthens the understanding that the quality of digital presence is a springboard to keep up with a fast-paced society.

In most recent years, Feed has grown its experience in helping arts and culture organisations to step up their game. Whether it be music festivals, art museums, events, architecture firms, cultural fairs or music venues, the team is dedicated to offer digital advice and solutions to make arts and culture offerings more available to a general public.

    Working at Feed

With its 17 employees ranging from back-end developers to service designers, Feed today is a hub of hungry and talented heads in the centre of Oslo. A common denominator to all employees is that they see design in the broadest possible sense. Research, analysis, graphic design, UX and service design are all integral parts of each project. They believe design is about creating meaning and value – with craftsmanship, user needs and an awareness of social context as their foundation.

The team always seeks to create value by balancing well known industry standards with the best of cutting edge technology. Their client portfolio ranges from banks to architecture firms, heavy technological industries to urban development. Each platform that they build is independent and flexible, ranging from business critical micro services to automated processes enhanced with artificial intelligence. The aim always being to offer tailored solution for businesses in an ever-changing digitalised world.
