The beef
Creating a predictive health app
Nightingale Health is a company specialised in preventative health. The ground-breaking Livit app was created together with their and our experts to give people a chance to maximise their Healthy Years and help prevent future diseases through home blood test kits. The lesson learnt; life is a gift and cooperation with Fusion Ecosystem makes you go far, further than you even thought.
Bringing the right people together
Livit app is a true cooperation project that required several Fusion superpowers. The app development team included people from the client’s side and from Reaktor, Polar Squad, Witted, Mavericks, Codemate and Adventure Club. Tech and user-centred design were brought together to bring Livit to life.
The project required a lot of expertise in various fields ranging from hard-core technological know-how to top-notch user experience and design. With Fusion it’s easy to gather all this talent together from the ecosystem companies and make it all work seamlessly.
Reaktor plays on all fields
Reaktor has had the overall responsibility of the strategic collaboration with Nightingale Health. The cooperation first started with forming a roadmap and product strategy in early 2021. Based on the assessment, the Nightingale Health R&D ways of working, product vision and roadmap to support globalisation and fast growth were reformed.
To make the roadmap a reality Reaktor has helped build the needed organisation with design, development and data competences that were essential for creating the next version of the app and supporting global growth. A versatile team of Reaktorians have worked in key product development, design, content, data and analytics roles to support the Nightingale Health team both in Finland and in one of their key markets, Japan.
Polar Squad makes everything work under the hood
Polar Squad’s task was initially to establish a unified monitoring and alerting platform for a wide variety of systems. However, the scope quickly expanded to help find ways to remove obstacles from developers and reduce the workload of the infra team to support business. A major part of this was to start working on standardising the platform to unify, ease and speed up operations while being able to comply with the high regulatory requirements.
Codemate and Mavericks thrive on the app and service development
Mavericks and Codemate have both contributed key developers for Livit app development, Codemate also to the laboratory services side for Nightingale Health’s professionals. The coding itself was particularly meticulous due to the rules and regulations of the healthcare sector. This made the case both interesting and instructive from a technical, ethical and life-improving standpoint.
Witted provides high profile talent with spot-on expertise
Witted has played a crucial role in the project from the start by supplying the needed expertise to support the development team in application development and software testing. The experts from Witted have been instrumental in providing tech lead level app development knowhow as well as testing services for the rest of the development team.
Adventure Club brings in great design
Adventure Club brought UI/UX design, graphic design, and illustrations to the table. After MVP scope was locked, it was time to make the designs ready for developers. One of the absolute highlights was working with the concrete designs for the new concept of Healthy Years. Healthy Years, the next-generation health metric for preventative health, provides an estimated age you are likely to live to before getting a disease that significantly reduces your quality of life. The whole user experience took a new turn with this.
Results
A glimpse to your future
Livit app gives the user a prediction of their Healthy Years. This means the estimated age of living a healthy life before falling ill with the most common diseases that reduce the quality of life. The app also shows a comprehensive view of the wellbeing of the user’s heart, mind, immunity, and metabolism. The created app is a personalised health guide for the user that draws its wisdom from a few drops of blood and a vast data pool.
How it works – the steps to take
Everything starts with the app. First, the user downloads it and orders a blood sampling home kit. The blood sample is then taken at home and mailed to Nightingale Health’s laboratory for a thorough analysis. The results are made available and easily understood in the app and help the users make better choices in their daily life. For the user the experience is simple and engaging. However, to get it like this required a lot of thinking, cooperation, and hard work that continues.
Beautiful, clear and smart
While Livit app is a consumer health service based on peer-reviewed medical science discoveries, it is also a manifestation of a very cool commercial and cutting-edge technology. In this multi-expert project, we have been helping the client find the balance between these two worlds. It is a technologically demanding project in a highly regulated field, but at the end it’s the customer experience that makes it or breaks it. And in this case, it’s beautiful, clear and smart.
