Wunderdog, a Fusion Ecosystem company, is a consulting agency helping customers build successful digital businesses in Helsinki, Berlin, and soon in Málaga. Together with our customers, we create scalable services by combining high-quality code, human-centered design, and smart ways of working.
From a discussion in a bar to an international technology company
In May 2014, the founding five gathered around the same bar table in Helsinki for the first time. They had found there was a clear demand for skilled, agile teams focusing on customer experience in small and medium-sized projects. This was a market segment the leading technology companies, focused on larger projects, were not serving.
They wanted to have people, culture, and quality at the heart of everything. This is where our journey began.
Born years later than the leaders in the field, we inevitably started as an underdog. Our dedication and goals made it clear that being an underdog was only temporary. We added a W to the name to give the wow-effect that would foreshadow the upcoming. Together the people of this company would do wonders.
We are not outsourcers, but enablers
Today Wunderdog has grown from a wild Finnish dream to an international technology company serving businesses from small startups to large enterprises in Helsinki, Berlin, and Málaga.
We focus on creating sustainable business value. We would like to believe that we exist to promote quality of life: we do things that are worthy to us, our customers, and our society. To us, this is the meaning of good digital solutions.
Wunderdog future-proofs digital solutions with our 3P-model: Purpose, Processes, and People. We create viable and user-centered software and offer expert consultancy throughout the whole lifecycle of our customers’ digital services and products.
We pursue fast and continuous value creation through speed, cost, and quality, finding individual and tailored solutions to the problem our customer is facing. We build sustainable, scalable solutions that our customers can maintain -solutions that grow together with their business, without always needing our intervention.
Customers have been at the core of our business since we were founded. In our operations and culture, we value freedom, responsibility, and transparency. We believe that succeeding together is the way to shape the future and create digital services together with our partners, and building partner ecosystems is our key strategic ambition.

What are the most common problems we help our customers solve?
The global pandemic has speeded up digital transformation, and all companies are becoming IT companies. When everything becomes software, we are here to help companies build value.
Sometimes, the starting point of our conversation is that the customer would need more understanding of an underlying issue, or the impact and value that an application would actually create, in order to offer better services or do better business. We help them get to the core of this issue together and support the customer throughout their digital transformation. We also call this model our 4D’s: we Discover, Design, Develop, and Deliver.
Sometimes it’s also just a matter of getting things done: having the vision but not having the bandwidth to do what is important and urgent. Our customers might be looking for an additional helping hand with a high-level of expertise in a need to scale their business or to answer the fluctuating needs of their market. They might be looking for additional team members, or supplement knowledge and skills, to help them in this process.
Our people and the environment, that’s what matters
Wunderdog is a people-first company with an open-by-default culture.
From the very beginning, Wunderdog has been working to build the best possible workplace for our employees. In the early years, we crafted our Culture Manifesto to highlight the values we believe in. Still to this day, it is the basis for everything we do.
We work hard for a physically and mentally safe working environment and equal treatment for every individual and are granted the MIELI ry (Finnish Mental Health Association) mind-friendly workplace label.
At Wunderdog, we believe in succeeding together. Behind each individual doggo, there is always the support of the entire company. One way to support learning and self-development is our open-source program that compensates our employees’ OSS work while also contributing to the community.

About the Authors
Emmi Korhonen is Wunderdog’s Marketing Lead. She has more than 10 years of marketing experience on her shoulders, from B2C in retail to B2B in IT. In her free time, you can find Emmi dwelling in behavioral sciences, listening to live music, going to art museums, or enjoying a fine glass of wine.
Ville Komulainen is one of the founding members of Wunderdog. Ville started off as the COO of Wunderdog, and then took on the role as our CEO. He gets his energy from creating new things: DIY things at home and coding simple utilities for everyday life. Fun fact? Anyone who knows Ville would know that there aren’t many things he wouldn’t have an Excel spreadsheet for.
